A word from Madelyn Sutton Director of the Christian Caring Center

And Gideon says, "Pardon me, my lord, but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, 'Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?' But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian." (Judges 6:13 NIV)

Have you ever doubted God?

I know I have and am so very glad that He is patient and merciful to me. However, when God calls you to do something impossible, He will accomplish it. ”The Lord of hosts has sworn, ‘Surely just as I have intended so it has happened and just as I have planned so it will stand.” (Isaiah 14:24).Two more times the Lord encouraged Gideon, promising he would be with him. Then Gideon prepared a meal for the angel. The angel touched the meat and unleavened bread with his staff, and the rock they were sitting on spewed fire, consuming the offering. Next Gideon put out a fleece, a piece of sheepskin with the wool still attached, asking God to cover the fleece with dew overnight, but leave the ground around it dry. God did so. Finally, Gideon asked God to dampen the ground overnight with dew but leave the fleece dry. God did that as well. God was patient with Gideon because he had chosen him to defeat the Midianites, who had impoverished the land of Israel with their constant raids. Over and over the Lord assured Gideon what his mighty power would accomplish through him. Aware of his own weakness and the daunting task before him, Gideon was an ideal vehicle for the Lord’s tremendous work of deliverance. I want to encourage you that in the battle against homelessness, hunger, poverty, etc. we can be a part of God’s deliverance too. Just like God only needed 300 men to accomplish His deliverance for Israel, so does the Christian Caring Center. We are seeking 300 supporters for 2021 to accomplish what He called us to do. There is so much need out there right now and we all know at least one who has been affected during this pandemic. Unemployment, reduced hours, children out of school and moms have to stay home to take care of them, homelessness, hunger out of control. You have been a secret weapon of God during 2020! We have attached what God has accomplished through the Christian Caring Center. We received a couple of grants specifically in certain areas like emergency shelter, food, and rents. However, they didn’t pay for the staff to case manage the clients through the system or the other program costs. These grants were a one-time grant and we were so thankful for them. This year looks like the needs are still climbing. The good news is just like Gideon’s Army of 300, the Lord has provided us with supporters too. There are 1,100 supporters on this mailing list and if we had 300 supporters that could commit to $35 each month we would meet our budget deficit--Praise the Lord! So we are asking you to become a Gideon Army supporter this year, if possible. We have had unprecedented need and outstanding ways of meeting them. Without you, our partners and supporters, that wouldn’t have been possible in 2020. I am also so very thankful and grateful to all of you that Pray and continue to support the Christian Caring Center.

YOU enable us to reach so many.

THANK YOU!!!

Abiding in Him,

Madelyn Sutton, Executive Director
