Remember all the stories and movies about the westward expansion of the United States?
Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Remember all the stories and movies about the westward expansion of the United States
The pioneers were leading the way forward exploring the uncharted territories, investigating every valley, climbing every mountain, crossing every river, and facing every enemy as they explored the land of opportunity before them. After the pioneers came the settlers. When a pathway was created and territories mapped out, caravans of horse drawn wagons took colonists on a westbound trek looking for a place to establish a community and raise a family. When such a place was discovered the settlers pitched tents and then erected homes. Then they built towns, staked out farmlands and began settlements. They were interested in safety and security then with adventure and excitement. For our clients and us, it’s still the same. There are settlements that are safe and some that are filled with many enemies. Some of the enemies in many of the neighborhoods are the same with guns shootings regularly and alcohol running rapidly. There are even more enemies now such as drugs, gangs, food insecurity, poverty, homelessness, etc. Some wise Pastors have told me that Satan does not have any new temptations just different disguises. The good news is we can send pioneers like you and me under the anointing of God and the Holy Spirit and take back what the enemy stole! We need to send in pioneers like David and Caleb that will fight for the people. The most important reason to fight and intercede is for the children who are home right now in the summer, the seniors that are living in fear and poverty, the single Moms struggling to work and raise a family, etc. That is why it is so important for the Christian Caring Center to be there as a pioneer interceding and equipping the people. That is why you are so important as a part of the pioneering in any way--by equipping us, by praying, giving of finances, items, food drives, back packs, volunteering, etc. It’s so important for people that are looking for a way out.
1. This month alone in our Street/Motel Outreach we had 3 people go into detox and then rehab. One man has begun coming to church and he is inviting others to come with him now. We admitted 3 new men to the Men’s Shelter Program. We helped 6 households get into new apartments in our Rapid Rehousing Program. We also prevented 1 household from becoming homeless in our Homeless Prevention Program. We helped 239 households put food on the table with 7,020 meals in our Emergency Food Pantry. The Virtua Grocery Store continues to come to our Men’s Shelter to provide low cost great foods to Sunbury Village!!! These are amazing weapons to defeat the enemy! And all these people received prayer!
Pioneers are explorers and intercessors seeking to go where no one has gone before. Settlers are different. They seek safety. They avoid risking life and limb preferring the shelter and security of the settlement to the adventurous danger of uncharted territories. We all must do what we are all called to do and keep believing and be in agreement with God’s word! Thank you for believing and being in agreement with us at the Christian Caring Center for these men and all our other clients, agreeing with us in prayer, because only God could do exceeding and abundantly works like these. PTL!! None of this would be possible if you didn’t help with your prayer and support! I am also so very thankful and grateful to all of you that Pray and continue to support the Christian Caring Center. You enable us to reach so many. THANK YOU!!!
Abiding in Him,
Madelyn Sutton, Executive Director
