Philippians 4:9
“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Our world has a surplus of displaced people; men, women and children. Often we do not make life easy for widows or single parents. I believe the main reason is due to the many and long lasting needs and some of their attitudes, moods and often depression. The things that we see and hear in the Word of God and through the different teachers He has sent to guide us tell us what we are to apply in our daily lives. We don’t just learn about God so we can sit on the knowledge and gloat about it or say we have a degree. We are to apply this knowledge in our lives. This is when it will be truly effective. In James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” How do we deceive ourselves? By forgetting were we came from. We are in a very active Code Blue Season. Code Blue is declared by the County when the weather dips to 32 degrees or colder. The Christian Caring Center runs one of the County’s designated shelters at Tabernacle of Praise Church in Browns Mills. We are able to shelter 11 guests this year due to social distancing and CDC Covid guidelines. It is a total blessing to be able to serve these guests and to help them obtain housing. Since November, 2021 we have had 1 guest rent a room, 1 guest complete rehab after 7 years of addiction, and 1 guest gave his life to the Lord-PTL!!, We have 1 guest entering Veterans Haven and 1 guest entering domestic violence housing. We ask your prayers for 2 urgent needs. 1. Is the need for overnight staff from 5pm-9am. It has a $50/night stipend paid. 2. Is the need for 2 more churches to open their doors to allow trained nonprofits to run a Code Blue Shelter in the South and Western half of our County. Code blue usually runs until the end of March. If your church is interested or you are interested in a ministry, please email me at christiancaringcenter@yahoo.com We are trying our best to keep all the other programs open with all the new CDC Covid recommendations. At the time of this writing, we are open with some restrictions. Of course we can always use some new volunteers in positions of picking up guests from Code Blue in the morning, checking temperatures, loading the food boxes into the cars, substitutes for people calling out, and financial offerings to keep everything supplied, etc. Thanks for all your prayers. We ask that you continue as I and some other staff have had COVID 19. But Praise God the mild one. We had to quarantine 5 days so as you can imagine there were disruptions. God is so awesome and good and we haven’t had to close anything down! Thank you for sharing your prayers, time, and financial gifts to spread this wonderful Gospel to the people we serve at the Christian Caring Center during this new year. We look forward to “the year of the Lord’s favor” in 2022 for your family, the Christian Caring Center and all our clients.
Abiding in Him,
