A word from our Director...

Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. This is the conclusion of the Apostle's prayer, in which the power of God is celebrated, a perfection which is essential unto God, and is very large and extensive; it reaches to all things, to everything that he wills, which is his actual or ordinative power; and to more things than he has willed, which is his absolute power; and to all things that have been, are, or shall be, and to things impossible with men; My church Wednesday night Bible Study was on this verse this week. As I meditate on it, it makes my spirit man just marvel at the things that I have witnessed Jesus do over and over in my life and the lives of the people I love and are called to. So many times circumstances that seem to be impossible have been turned around and accomplished. I think about the Men’s Shelters. We opened the first one at 84 Delap Court in 2000 and 21 years later so many men have gone through the program. Some were successful in finding housing through the program and some were not. However, according to God, all were successful in hearing the Gospel and receiving the love of God while they stayed there. Some men received the Word of God as described in Matthew 13:4-8. Some men who received the seed of the Gospel the birds came and ate them up, some fell on the rocky soil of their hearts and others fell among the thorns (life circumstances) and choked out the Gospel. But then some men received the Gospel and grew beyond what we ever expected! But for all these men that we had the pleasure of sowing into their lives for a short time, we don’t always know what happened with them a year-5 years after. What we are believing and agreeing with is Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word that goes forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Meaning that everything that was sown into each man will take hold as each man receives it. And we are expecting it to be able to “do exceeding abundantly more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power, that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20. A church supporter was shopping in Walmart one day and saw a friend that she had taken into her house years before. He had lost his job and then his apartment, but it didn’t work out due to alcoholism. She had to ask him to leave. This supporter had lost contact with her friend, but God didn’t. Somehow, God brought him to the Christian Caring Center and then to our Men’s Shelter. This man did ok while at the Men’s Shelter getting a job at Walmart and then shared an apartment with another resident (which is still working to this day). But the amazing exceedingly abundant testimony that our supporter heard was her friend testifying that he found God while at the Men’s Shelter and has been sober and walking with him all these years. This friend never told the staff of the Christian Caring Center or Men’s Shelter of his personal walk with God. We all must do what we are all called to do and keep believing and be in agreement with God’s word! Thank you for believing and being in agreement with us at the Christian Caring Center for these men and all our other clients, agreeing with us in prayer, because only God could do exceeding and abundant works like these--PTL!! None of this would be possible if you didn’t help with your prayers and support! I am also so very thankful and grateful to all of you that Pray and continue to support the Christian Caring Center because you enable us to reach so many. THANK YOU!!! Abiding in Him, Madelyn Sutton, Executive Director
